Fast Moving Line Of Thunderstorms Today

Not something you see too often

At 1050 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Catawissa to near Shamokin to Rebuck to Port Trevorton, moving east at 100 mph.

Here in Mount Joy the storms were really nothing all that special. We were on the weakening southern end of the line. I just read that Reading recorded a 83 mph wind gust and a 76 mph gust in Montgomery County and a 75 mph gust in Chester County. We just weren’t in the best trajectory here. Seems they were pretty destructive out that way from what I’m seeing.

It was fun to watch the line race across Pennsylvania this morning. Don’t see them move across that state that fast too often. Originally we were forecasted to have thunderstorms in the afternoon but I would imagine that line that raced across the state in a few hours probably stabilized the atmosphere pretty good. Time will tell what happens later on today.

Down in lower Bucks county don’t forget to call my brother, Rick’s Expert Tree Service. They work hard and are honest and will take care of your tree issues.
